The Internet has created frontiers for commerce that will change our future in ways people can’t yet imagine. One of the biggest changes you’ll find to take place during this revolution is the creation of private communities, cooperatives or clubs; in the case of the FDU it is a Game community created as a virtual universe. In this universe each Player is expressely recognised as being a Sovereign Digital Soule.

The cooperatives developing in the Information Age will connect people of the planet without reservation to a person’s geographic location. Anyone with a portable computer and access to the net (think satellite links) will be able to conduct a majority of their business from any physical jurisdiction they choose. People in depressed countries will have access to a equal - global - information economy where the relative cost of living to the wages they earn will begin to redistribute the wealth of the planet more equally. Poor countries will develop using "information" as their export to the growing information economy, exporting lion video's (millions of reproductions if the like) instead of lion skins.

When big enough groups form they will be ready to conduct their commercial transactions amongst one another under their own private terms, appropriate to their cultures, needs, and fears, using any virtual currency they choose, even creating their own.

The ability to create and use digital and virtual private currency for the exchange of goods, services, and information is more significant than you can imagine.

Free minded people everywhere will have the opportunity to conduct their affairs under their own rules, with people of like-minded values, in their own currencies.

Using digital banking, digital currency can be converted into goods, services, and local currencies through the use of credit cards, and private smart cards. By the use of a smart card and reader, if your local merchant is part of your cooperative then you may be able to conduct business locally and still conduct your business in your private currency.

So, what might one of these private digital cooperatives look like and do once they are assembled? We’re about to find out as we look at a Game design for a private digital association. The “Free Digital Universe.”

The Free Digital Universe Players agree upon entering the Game that the following shared convictions, creeds, and inter-relating contracts of its Players will be honored:
· Sovereignty of each Digital Soule/Player
· The Universal Right to Private Contract
· Right of Commercial Freedom
· Support of Global Environmental, Economic, and Societal Sustainability
· Use of a Common, Exchangeable, and Unencumbered Global Currency
· Use of Cooperative Economic Models
· Right to Security of Personal Assets
· Support of Social Transition into the Information Age

The FDU Game will test a model for integrating the social functions of law, commerce, technology, and communications in the Information Age. Integration of the latter three concepts (commerce, technology, and communications) is now commonplace. The integration of the concept of private law with a virutal cyber universe allows the unique opportunity for economic interface from the distinct, globally viable FDU jurisdiction in a manner which allows Players to retain their basic rights, sovereignty, and standing.
