news: Lawmakers say stimulus will cover budget gap
State revenue figures were released on Tuesday, showing an additional $171 million shortfall for 2009 and $320 million for 2010, and state lawmakers say they won't tap rainy-day funds to cover the shortfalls.
Instead, the nearly $800 billion federal stimulus package -- much derided by Utah lawmakers -- will come to the rescue.
