About Lynne
Lynne Cherry is the acclaimed author and illustrator of over 30 environmental books, including the the children’s rainforest classic,The Great Kapok Tree. Her books eloquently demonstrate her passionate commitment to connecting children to the natural world, through going outdoors and empowering children to change things. One of her books, A River Ran Wild, tells the story of the Nashua River in New England and how it was restored to health. Similarly with the issue of climate change, Lynne Cherry deeply believes that if people--including children--understand what is happening and why, they can make a big difference in preserving the home planet where we live.
