We have just been informed that Costa Rican President and Pax Natura Chair Oscar Arias is being considered for Secretary General of the United Nations. We understand his candidacy is being proposed primarily for his views on the environment and his recent declaration of peace with nature in Costa Rica would be a wonderful model for the United Nations. An international declaration is thus moving closer to reality with the possibility of someone of his vision at the head of the U.N. We can only hope.
