iraq	Events	6th Anniversary of U.S. Invasion and Occupation of Iraq	There may be a new kid on the block but that doesn’t change the fact that there is still an illegal U.S. occupation in Iraq. March 20 marks the 6th anniversary of the illegal U.S. invasion and occupation of Iraq - the occupation which still continues. President Obama’s “campaign promise” of “ending the Iraq War” consists of withdrawing 2/3 of U.S. troops by 2010 and keeping the other 1/3 there (to protect U.S. “interests” of course!). Not only that, Obama plans to send an 8additional8 17,000 troops to Afghanistan.
